Team Manager – Matalan (Glasgow, Scotland)

Salary: From £25,969 per annum

Working Pattern: Full Time

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 38.0 hours per week

About

the Role

As a Team Manager you’ll be a key role model in our stores, showcasing Matalan values and behaviours while optimising sales and leading a high‑performing, energetic and adaptable team. You’ll coach and motivate team members, run the store in the absence of the store manager, use customer feedback to create a great shopping experience and contribute to a successful retail management career at Matalan.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales targets and explore new sales opportunities.
  • Serve as a role model of outstanding customer service and Matalan values.
  • Lead the implementation of seasonal layouts and visual guidelines throughout the store.
  • Open and close the store.
  • Up‑skill team members, provide regular feedback and drive performance.

About You
  • Experience in a similar role in fashion or homeware retail.
  • Confident communicator who can engage and motivate others.
  • Examples of leadership experience.
  • Good understanding of visual merchandising (VM).
  • Proven ability to identify sales opportunities and drive new ideas.
  • Knowledge of operational processes and procedures within retail, with cost awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
