Morgan Stanley are looking for a UI developer to join their Sales and Distribution team within the Institutional Equities Division

This is a UI developer position (HTML5/Angular/CSS) would be part of the group that develops a number of analytical tools that are used by Sales and trading users that provide enriched sector based and stock analytics. All the tools implement technologies such as HTML5/Angular.

The Candidate Will

• Be responsible for working in a team as a process-oriented person and adhering to the organizations product development standards
• Be responsible for developing, enhancing, re-engineering & maintaining the SnD UI applications.
• Will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall design and architecture of the application developed and deployed
• Be expected to promote best practices in terms of TDD, development tools and practices
• Support and lead different phases of the product lifecycle including analysis, development and testing
• Interact with business users to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues
• Gain an understanding of the Morgan Stanley business to facilitate communication with business users

An ideal candidate will demonstrate excitement for new technology and an eagerness to learn and should be a self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills. The role involves all aspects of the software development life cycle: analysis, design and implementation.

They should be able to handle competing demands on time and manage their own work to deadlines. Flexibility in outlook is essential. They should be a team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with teams across geographical areas. They should have a high degree of motivation to expand their technical and business knowledge

Skills Required

• Strong JavaScript skills
• Experience employing HTML5, CSS and related web technologies
• Experience with commonly used frameworks such as Angular and Type Script.
• Experience of agile & TDD
• Experience developing custom reusable components.
• Should have the ability to analyze, design, and develop complex UI components
• Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and deliver results
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Skills Desired

• Some exposure to the financial services industry is a plus
• Strong desire to work in a fast paced front office environment.
