Lombard Counseling and Psychological Services is seeking Java/Scala Developers to join teams within the Technology division in Glasgow. The role focuses on modernizing our core technology platform and delivering high‑quality solutions.
Team Overview
Sales and Distribution Department – Developers will help modernize the core technology platform, building AI chatbots, developing ML algorithms, migrating to event‑driven microservices, and redesigning UIs.
Finance Technology – Delivering technology products to manage the firm’s liquidity and capital resources, including intraday liquidity, cash management, forecasting, stress testing, budgeting, financial planning, and firmwide reporting and analytics.
Job Responsibilities- Designing and developing server‑side components that meet business requirements efficiently.
- Directly interfacing with business users to understand requirements and provide solutions.
- Integrating E
* Trade with strategic toolsets. - Assisting and guiding team members in design and development.
- Partnering with leads to identify and mitigate risks and escalating issues as necessary.
- Ensuring code quality and automated testing standards, participating in code reviews, and upholding quality gates.
- Contributing to overall design and architecture of deployed applications.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Hands‑on experience with Java.
- Strong knowledge of multi‑threading and high‑volume server‑side development.
- Architectural knowledge and awareness of enterprise application design patterns.
- Basic working knowledge of Unix/Linux.
- Exposure to Test and Behaviour‑Driven Development in an agile setup (plus).
- Excellent communication, team‑work, and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to learn the business domain and collaborate with stakeholders to specify new features.
- Extensive experience developing enterprise‑scale n‑tier applications.
- Good experience with data structures/collections and strong programming aptitude.
- Ability to analyze, design, and develop complex, high‑throughput/low‑latency applications.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relevant technical degree.
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.
- Working knowledge of Database SQL.
- Some exposure to the financial services industry.
- Strong desire to work in a fast‑paced front‑office environment.
