Lead Software Engineer - Java & AWS

Job Description

Asset Wealth Management is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop next-generation order management systems (OMS) on both public (AWS) and private cloud environments. The role focuses on building cutting-edge technologies that empower wealth managers and private bankers worldwide to execute investments and trading functions in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

• Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical challenges beyond routine approaches.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by peers.
• Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in one or more focus areas.
• Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications that meet business requirements.
• Collaborate within an Agile/Dev Ops environment to deliver practical solutions.
• Lead communities of practice across software engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologies.

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), integration patterns, and messaging technologies such as JMS, MQ, Kafka.
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills, design principles and patterns, with ability to troubleshoot and debug application issues.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more languages such as Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with RDBMS systems and SQL (Postgres, Oracle).
• Self-management skills to multi-task and meet committed deadlines.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• In-depth knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience integrating Elasticsearch and Redis into applications.
• Practical experience with public cloud services such as AWS.

• Experience working in a financial services company environment.
• Familiarity with Java technologies such as reactive programming and Web Flux.
• Ability to innovate and propose solutions to solve business problems.
• Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
