qualifications:

30 or more credit hours; or an associate’s (or higher) degree; or having met a rigorous standard of quality, as determined by the new jersey department of education, that demonstrates through a formal assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in reading, writing and mathematics instruction or reading, writing and mathematics readiness.

hold county substitute teacher certificate or apply for one before start date.

successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of u.s. Citizenship or legal resident alien status.

meets the health qualifications required of all personnel.

meets nj residency requirements or willingness to relocate to nj within 365 days of employment.

must follow the guidelines of the camden county technical schools’ nepotism policy, file code: 0142.1.

position/salary: this is a part-time, 10-month position.

performance responsibilities: clerical functions for all instructional technicians

• file materials.
• maintain list of supplies on hand.
• keep a constant stock of supplies on hand for use.
• maintain records pertaining to distribution and inventory of books, supplies, and equipment.

if assigned to a classroom or career area

• correct homework, workbooks, objective tests, and reports results to the teacher.
• prepare instructional materials.
• keep records and charts, such as attendance and seating.
• assist with supervision of students in safe and proper use of tools.
• assist with school related activities.
• set up and operate equipment.
• set up learning areas and arrange instructional materials for accessibility.
• assist with supervision of student cleanup time and maintain bulletin boards.
• keep classroom/career area appropriately maintained.
• maintain arrangement and storage of classroom/career area furniture and instructional materials.
• provide feedback to teacher on encounters with students.
• assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies and field trips.
• assist with supervision of students’ activities as directed by teacher.
• present materials as requested by teacher.
• present materials within students’ comprehension.
• exercise control over areas of responsibilities and relate well with students.
• work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
