Safran is an international group and you will be part of the Safran UK Purchasing team in Gloucester.

Purchasing management that makes flying possible. Working within the Safran UK Purchasing team, the Commodity Manager will lead and facilitate the purchases of one or more commodities. You will need to be a strategic thinker and enjoy forging relationships with a wide range of senior stakeholders (internal & external) to achieve commercially viable and sustainable partnerships for your commodity or commodities.

Safran UK is based in Gloucester and operates the UK Shared Service Centre, putting service delivery at the centre of the business and including Transactional Finance, Indirect Procurement, HR and Tax, and International Mobility management departments. • Draft, acquire, validate, and deploy the targeted purchasing policies for one or more commodities in accordance with the needs and objectives of the internal customers (contracting customers).
• Guarantee the attainment of objectives within your scope in terms of gains and service levels expected by Safran.
• In the case of a group mandate, coordinate actions with the concerned buyers of the other companies.
• Lead communication about the purchasing policies under your responsibility.
• Act as an approver, expert, and key contact for your commodity at SUK.
• Play a key role in fostering and maintaining a UK‑wide network within your commodity.

• Demonstrable knowledge of purchasing methodologies and processes.
• Proven commodity management and procurement experience.
• Knowledge of industrial and purchasing policies and legal knowledge (contracts).
• Previous experience within a purchasing team using purchasing information systems.
• CIPS qualifications at Level 4+ (or equivalent professional experience).
