Principal Recruitment Consultant Covering permanent Mechanical and Project Engineering across the Midlands and South East at Roc Search

The Role

We’re seeking a proactive Electrical Design Engineer to own electrical design across our clients' engineered products from concept to production. You’ll work in a multi‑disciplinary team and design to strict safety and compliance standards.

• Lead electrical design of packaged systems, including control panels, schematics, and cable schedules.
• Specify and select components to meet performance, safety, and compliance needs.
• Develop and integrate PLC-based control systems (programming a bonus).
• Produce electrical documentation: calculations, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and supporting files.
• Support EMC‑compliant design and work with external test houses.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Compliance, and Manufacturing teams.
• Take part in design reviews, risk assessments, and validation activities.

About You

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiar with LVD, EMC, Machinery Directive, BS EN 60204‑1.
• Experience supporting EMC‑compliant design and documentation.
• Skilled in CAD/schematic tools (e.g., Solid Works Electrical).
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication.
