Fulltime – Days – Gloucester - Salary up to £45,000

As Production Engineer you’ll be responsible for improving and optimising day-to-day manufacturing operations. The focus is on building robust process controls to deliver high, consistent quality, and on improving flow and reducing waste across the full value stream.

You’ll also support the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing, making sure standard, repeatable methods are used from design through to implementation on the shop floor.

The Role:

Own day-to-day Production Engineering activity for your value stream, using standard tools and processes to ensure accurate, consistent delivery.

Develop, document and maintain robust production processes (SOPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, process maps, tooling) to improve flow, quality and cost.

Monitor and analyse manufacturing data to identify issues, drive OEE/operational improvements and provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting.

Lead PE input into new products/processes and Lean/CI activity, including root cause analysis, corrective/preventative actions and cross-functional problem solving.

Support business systems, procedures, KPIs, audits and compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, while building strong relationships across Operations.

The Person :

Strong process/production engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally with mechanical processes such as pressing, machining and assembly.

Hands-on experience using common Production Engineering tools: process mapping, Yamazumi, time studies (e.g. MOST), SOP creation, value stream mapping, SPC, spaghetti diagrams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to get to root cause on complex issues.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and relevant regulatory standards.

Effective communicator with good stakeholder skills, able to work in cross-functional teams.

Able to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
