Senior Quantity Surveyor – Industrial Projects
Up to £80,000 + Benefits
Location:
Swindon
A well-established main contractor delivering major industrial, logistics, and large-scale commercial schemes is looking to appoint a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced project environments and enjoys taking commercial ownership across complex new-build industrial developments.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving the financial and contractual performance of key industrial projects from pre-construction through to handover. You’ll work closely with project managers, planners, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost control and successful commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management on industrial/logistics projects from tender award through to completion.
* Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasting, applications for payment, and final accounts.
* Manage procurement processes including tender packages, subcontractor negotiation, and contract administration.
* Assess variations, risks, and opportunities, ensuring robust commercial protection for the business.
* Provide accurate commercial reporting and support senior management with financial insight.
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and wider delivery teams.
About You
* Strong background as a Quantity Surveyor within industrial, logistics, distribution centres, or large steel-frame new build environments.
* Excellent understanding of NEC or JCT contract forms.
* Confident in leading commercial strategy and mentoring junior team members when required.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Relevant construction or commercial qualification (HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent experience).
