Controls Engineer – Tip Top Job

Location:

Gloucester

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + Contributory Pension, 25 Days Holiday (additional 5 days with service), Private Medical, Group Life Assurance (5× Salary), Income Protection, Training & Development.

Hours:

37 hours per week – Week 1 Monday to Friday, Week 2 Monday to Thursday; every second Friday off.

Controls Engineer required for an industry leading supplier of manufacturing machinery. Responsible for programming PLC, HMI and Motion Control applications for automated machinery, both new and existing, including programming from scratch and modification. Based at the company's Gloucester site with international travel (4–5 times per year, 2–3 weeks each).

• Programming PLC, HMI and Motion Control applications on Rockwell Logix, Safety PLC, Siemens Control Systems, etc.
• Developing and modifying control systems from scratch for new machinery.
• Collaborating with mechanical service engineers on-site to resolve post-assembly issues.
• Travel internationally to support customers for 2–3 weeks at a time.

• Experience in a similar Controls/Automation Engineer role, preferably with PLC, HMI and motion programming.
• Demonstrated ability to program from scratch and modify existing control systems.
• Familiarity with robotic applications is a plus, but relevant experience from any industry is acceptable.
