Experienced Engineering Geologist (18 MONTHS Plus) GLOUCESTER

Our clients are an independently‑owned site investigation contractor offering a fully managed ground investigation service.

Field operatives are supported by a management team with a huge amount of experience and a focus on quality, safety and the environment.

They pride themselves on using skills and experience to collaborate with clients to get the right ground investigation data first time every time.

They are seeking an established engineering geologist to work within the friendly and established team delivering ground investigations throughout the UK. They can provide an exciting and varied workload working closely with in‑house engineering and drilling teams, technicians and commercial staff providing you with the opportunity to develop your career.

Job Description

Your role will be predominantly site‑based, focusing on delivering a range of ground investigations where you will take the lead for stakeholder engagement, site management, site documentation and site health and safety, often leading teams of logging engineers, drilling crews and ancillary activities.

They have an active training programme of all essential ground investigation qualifications, but also encourage staff development by attendance on courses including SARD, SSSTS and SMSTS, along with bespoke technical, contractual, and commercial seminars including NEC
3.

Your bespoke training programme and training matrix is supported by dedicated engineering personnel, ensuring that your chosen career as an engineering geologist continues to develop and be fulfilling. Attendance at Geological Society of London regional events is encouraged and there is a supported programme to work towards Chartership.

• Working within a wide variety of industry sectors including environmental, infrastructure and communications across the varied geology of the UK.
• Being predominantly site‑based (away from Gloucester) focusing on delivering a range of ground investigations
• Leading site based stakeholder engagement
• Site management
• Site documentation and site health and safety
• Logging / leading a team of logging engineers, drilling rigs and ancillary activities.
• Digital collection and processing of site data using Open Ground (full training can be provided).

• A BSc degree with related geology content. (Geology, Earth Sciences, Civils)
• 2+ years industry or industry related experience
• Logging soil and rock to BS5930
• Experience of setting up and executing projects in accordance with current best working practice and standards
• Robust approach to management of site H&S requirements
• Willingness to frequently work away from home.
• Full UK driving licence.
