Graduate Civil and Structural Engineer (UK Multiple Locations)

Join Amentum in September 2026 as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme. We are seeking a driven individual to support civil and structural engineering solutions across nuclear, renewable, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities- Support the analysis, design and construction preparation activities for structures and civil engineering features within nuclear and energy projects.
- Assist with requirements capture and a systems engineering approach.
- Contribute across the project life cycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to construction.
- Prepare safety case inputs, such as Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs), Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSR).
- Produce interpretive reports, bases of design, finite element modelling and analyses, calculations, CDM documentation, material specifications, scopes of work and technical reports.
- Assist in the preparation of design safety documentation and ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
- Participate in site surveys and inspections.
- Contribute to problem‑solving, technical investigations and root cause analysis.
- Build and maintain valuable relationships with peers, partners and clients.
- Completed an undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant subject by summer 2026.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Enthusiastic, curious and eager to learn from experienced professionals within a project‑driven environment.
- Analytical thinking: comfortable working with data, identifying risks, and solving problems creatively.
- Team collaborator: ability to work effectively within a team but also independently.
- Organisation and time‑management: ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Initiative and curiosity: eager to take ownership, ask questions and seek out growth opportunities.
- Flexibility: willingness to engage in new skill areas and potentially travel to client sites.
- A flexible self‑starter, keen to drive their career forward.
- Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
- Permanent right to work in the UK.
- Completed first degree no earlier than summer 2024.
- Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
- Achieved a minimum 2:2 in first degree.
