Graduate Civil and Structural Engineer (UK Multiple Locations)

Join Amentum in September 2026 as part of our 2026 Graduate Programme. We are seeking a driven individual to support civil and structural engineering solutions across nuclear, renewable, and industrial projects.

• Support the analysis, design and construction preparation activities for structures and civil engineering features within nuclear and energy projects.
• Assist with requirements capture and a systems engineering approach.
• Contribute across the project life cycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to construction.
• Prepare safety case inputs, such as Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs), Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSR).
• Produce interpretive reports, bases of design, finite element modelling and analyses, calculations, CDM documentation, material specifications, scopes of work and technical reports.
• Assist in the preparation of design safety documentation and ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
• Participate in site surveys and inspections.
• Contribute to problem‑solving, technical investigations and root cause analysis.
• Build and maintain valuable relationships with peers, partners and clients.

• Completed an undergraduate or master’s degree in a relevant subject by summer 2026.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
• Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Enthusiastic, curious and eager to learn from experienced professionals within a project‑driven environment.
• Analytical thinking: comfortable working with data, identifying risks, and solving problems creatively.
• Team collaborator: ability to work effectively within a team but also independently.
• Organisation and time‑management: ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Initiative and curiosity: eager to take ownership, ask questions and seek out growth opportunities.
• Flexibility: willingness to engage in new skill areas and potentially travel to client sites.

• A flexible self‑starter, keen to drive their career forward.
• Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.
• Permanent right to work in the UK.

• Completed first degree no earlier than summer 2024.
• Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
• Achieved a minimum 2:2 in first degree.
