Oracle APEX DBA / Software Engineer (eDV Cleared) — 12 Month Contract

Inside IR35, 12 month contract. Rate: £620 per day. Clearance: eDV required.

UK (working arrangements may include on-site attendance depending on project requirements).

We’re looking for an eDV-cleared Oracle APEX DBA / Software Engineer to join a secure, high-profile programme. You’ll be responsible for supporting and engineering robust database solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience across critical environments.

• Providing DBA and engineering support across Oracle databases and Oracle APEX applications
• Developing and optimising SQL / PLSQL (performance tuning, procedures, packages, data modelling support)
• Supporting and maintaining Oracle RAC environments (availability, scaling, troubleshooting)
• Managing resilience and recovery using Oracle Data Guard (standby configuration, monitoring, failover/testing)
• Supporting deployments, upgrades, patching and BAU operations in secure environments
• Diagnosing and resolving database/application issues, ensuring stability and performance
• Contributing to engineering best practice: automation, monitoring, documentation, and operational readiness

Active, transferable eDV clearance (mandatory)

Strong experience as an Oracle DBA and/or Software Engineer supporting database-led systems

Hands-on expertise with:

• SQL / PLSQL
• Oracle RAC
• Oracle Data Guard
• Oracle APEX (development and/or operational support)
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational mindset
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects and stakeholders in secure delivery environments

Experience with any of the following is highly beneficial:

• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB
• MySQL
• AWS database services and migration tooling:
  • AWS RDS
  • AWS Aurora
  • Amazon DynamoDB
  • AWS DMS (Database Migration Service)
