You will work on projects that improve product quality, support sustainable technology, and contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the aviation industry. Safran Landing Systems is a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, covering design, manufacturing, maintenance and repair.
What you'll be doing- Build and set up of test equipment for landing gear testing
- Assembly and fault-finding of electrical installations (e.g., PLC, HMI, wiring harnesses), with the aid of electrical schematics
- Assembly, fault finding and maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Compiling electrical schematics
- Calibration of transducers
- Strain-gauge installation
- Setting up data acquisition and control systems for testing
- Supporting Test Engineering facility activities relating to Health & Safety and maintenance
Year 1:
Time spent at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units are delivered and assessed.
Year 2-3:
Delivered and assessed within Safran to achieve a Level 3 Diploma, with allocated time to work in different departments according to training needs. All apprentices are assigned an apprenticeship coordinator to support learning journeys.
What you'll need to be successful:
- 5 GCSEs, grades 9–5, or A* - C (including English, Maths and Science)
- An interest in engineering from school, hobbies, or other experiences
- Positive work ethic and the ability to work both alone and with others
- Willingness to learn and try new challenges
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to plan and organise yourself
