Process Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an aerospace client based in Gloucester, who are looking for a process quality engineer to join the team.
As Process Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for driving the optimisation and improvement of the organisation's manufacturing operations. The role will also support the effective introduction of new products and processes, ensuring that methodologies are applied to their design and implementation in the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities- Carry out daily process engineering activities within the assigned value stream using standardised tools and procedures.
- Work with Quality Engineering to complete PFMEAs, Control Plans, and implement effective process controls.
- Maintain accurate Standard Operating Instructions and detailed production process maps using tools such as VSMs, Yamazumi charts, and time studies.
- Develop and manage efficiency improvement plans to enhance production flow, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Manage tooling, analyse manufacturing data, and provide technical support to resolve issues and improve OEE.
- Support new product and process introductions, Lean events, and cross-functional root cause analysis activities.
- Contribute to BMS utilisation, procedure development, KPI reporting, audits, and ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Build strong relationships within the value stream team, stay updated on industry best practices, and complete other reasonable tasks as required.
- Significant process engineering experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with process engineering tools such as Yamazumi, MOST time studies, SOPs, Value Stream Mapping, SPC, and Spaghetti diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex process issues.
- Knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Desirable experience in Lean methodologies, APQP tools (PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans), and project management tools such as Gantt charts.
