Legal Cashier

Salary:
Up to circa £30,000 (DOE) |

Hours:

35 hours per week Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

The Role

TSR Legal is pleased to be recruiting a Legal Cashier on behalf of a highly regarded, award‑winning legal services group. Working within a busy and professional finance team, you will report to the Lead Legal Cashier and play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions. This includes managing receipts, checking completion paperwork, billing files, paying invoices and processing payments to clients, lenders and third parties.

You will help ensure full compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SARs) while supporting operational teams as their first point of contact for finance queries. You will also assist with resolving residual balance issues, processing purchase invoices, handling payments within agreed supplier terms and contributing to month‑end tasks alongside the Lead Cashier and Management Accountant.

The role sits within a central service company supporting two specialist and award‑winning law firms. The group operates nationally and is experiencing a period of ongoing growth, creating excellent opportunities for development within the finance function.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance/accounts/transactional role (AR or AP).
  • Strong understanding of processing payments, receipts and ledger accounting.
  • Experience handling client money.
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous legal finance experience.
  • Accounting or bookkeeping qualification.

Hours & Working Pattern
  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Hybrid working: 2 office days, 3 home‑working days
