Job Summary
Are you a registered mental health nurse with a commitment to delivering excellent mental health care as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team? Then look no further.
Gloucester Recovery Team is a community mental health team made up of psychiatrists, community mental health nurses, senior (B4) and Band 3 support workers, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants. We provide assessment and treatment for patients with significant mental health needs in the Gloucester locality, work closely with the Complex Psychological Therapies team, and provide training in emotional skills and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy group programmes.
The service offers a Clozapine and depot clinic and supports access to on‑site and at‑home physical health checks and smoking cessation for all patients to reduce health inequalities.
- Facilitate face‑to‑face assessments and provide a comprehensive triage service.
- Plan interventions, support and educate service users referred to the service with a range of psychiatric illnesses.
- Maintain responsibility for a caseload of approximately 25–30 service users with severe and enduring mental illness.
- Understand mental health difficulties, assess and support patients in implementing collaborative treatment plans towards personal recovery.
- Show compassion and care for service users, their carers, colleagues and other agencies.
- Work autonomously and under pressure while collaborating closely with other professions as part of multidisciplinary working.
- Demonstrate good organisational skills and prioritise clinical tasks to meet competing demands.
- Experience in mental health.

- Understanding of SMI.
- Some understanding of supporting patients with SMI in later life.
