An excellent opportunity has become available for a Band 7 Invasive Cardiac Physiologist to join a highly skilled cardiology team in Gloucester. This role is ideal for an experienced and motivated physiologist with a strong background in invasive cardiac procedures, looking to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional services in a well‑equipped and supportive environment.
ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will be responsible for performing and supporting a range of invasive cardiac procedures including angiography, angioplasty, and device implantation. Duties include physiological monitoring, data interpretation, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of specialised equipment. The role involves working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced clinical setting. Maintaining accurate records and adhering to clinical governance and safety protocols is essential.
Qualificationsand Experiences
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- RCCP or AHCS registration
- Extensive experience in invasive cardiology procedures
- Proficiency in cardiac catheterisation lab techniques
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure in acute clinical environments
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety
