Overview

We are looking to recruit a Head of Infrastructure for a public sector organisation undergoing a period of modernisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure leader who can provide a steady hand through change.

• Leading, developing and motivating a team responsible for the organisation’s technical infrastructure.
• Owning the strategy, planning and delivery of infrastructure services ensuring stability, security and future scalability.
• Managing the modernisation roadmap including M365 adoption, Azure platform development and improvements across on‑prem and cloud estates.
• Overseeing supplier contract and budget management ensuring value for money and strong commercial governance.
• Ensuring all infrastructure services comply with regulatory security and organisational standards.
• Driving service performance, capacity planning and availability management with proactive monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted technical advisor.
• Leading change management activities and ensuring new or enhanced services are smoothly transitioned into BAU.

• A seasoned manager with experience leading IT infrastructure teams (ideally 4-6 direct reports).
• Strong background in a regulated environment (public sector finance utilities etc.) with an understanding of governance and compliance.
• Practical experience with M365 migration, Azure platform management and modern enterprise infrastructure.
• Confident in procurement processes, supplier management and contract performance.
• Excellent communicator who can engage effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership.
• Someone calm, structured and accountable – a reliable safe pair of hands who can deliver stability while driving improvement.
