The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company's quality standards and specifications. This role predominantly involves performing CMM inspection and programming in addition to inspection of materials, processes and finished products, conducting tests, and working closely with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues and non‑conformance.
Responsibilities- Conduct inspection of composite and metallic components.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process components and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Gauge R&R reporting.
- Support MRB process.
- Create FAIR packs and other related documentation required for C of C to customer parts.
- Feedback regular or systemic failures to Operations / Engineering.
- Collaborate with production staff to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests and quality assurance activities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to enhance product quality.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective action planning for non‑conforming products through MRB process.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, AS 9100).
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in composite materials and quality control techniques.
- Minimum of a Level 3 NVQ in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field, or the equivalent in industrial experience.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably in composites or a related field.
- CMM programming and operation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of working with CAD models for the extraction of data to inspect.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometres, CMMs).
- Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Positive mindset with a can‑do attitude.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
