MissionThe most intricate aerospace components and structures will be machined by you. Working on our MRO site in Gloucester, you will use the latest equipment to support aircraft production and quality. Your work will contribute to Safran’s reputation for excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities- Set up and secure cutting tools on manual centre lathes and machine bushings to required sizes.
- Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment.
- Read component maintenance manuals (CMMs), complex drawings, and engineering layout to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to complete repairs within specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Fit bushings into aircraft parts using fitting techniques in accordance with CMMs, WP's and process‑control specifications.
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
- Actively participate in daily problem‑solving and continuous‑improvement events.
- Engineering apprenticeship or similar experience, preferably gained in aviation or automotive.
- Experience in conventional lathe turning and honing.
- Excellent communication, computer, and mathematical skills.
- Team‑working ethics, self‑managing and reliable.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and involvement in continuous‑improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours.
- Ability to work shift rotations, comprising days, lates, nights, and occasional weekends.
