Location: Imjin Barracks

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay: £15.72 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Early: 06:30 – 14:00
• Late: 12:00 – 19:30
• 1 in 4 weekends required

Meal Service Times:

• Breakfast: 07:00 – 08:00
• Lunch: 12:00 – 13:00
• Evening Meal: 18:00 – 19:00

We’re currently recruiting an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our team at Imjin Barracks
, supporting the delivery of high‑quality food for the Defence sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work with the UK’s leading food service company, where your leadership, culinary skill, and commitment to excellence will be valued and rewarded. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to manage day‑to‑day kitchen operations, ensuring every meal served is nutritious, well‑presented, and consistently delivered to a high standard.

• Supporting the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
• Preparing, cooking, and serving high‑quality food across all meal services
• Assisting with menu development and the implementation of new food concepts
• Supervising kitchen sections to ensure consistency and quality
• Monitoring stock levels, ordering, and assisting with inventory control
• Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
• Ensuring full compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene, and Health & Safety regulations
• Leading, motivating, and supporting junior kitchen staff

• Has proven experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ equivalent, and a Food Hygiene Certificate
• Is passionate about great‑tasting food and high‑quality service
• Has experience supervising, training, and motivating a kitchen team
• Is reliable, adaptable, and thrives in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
