Delivery Driver

About the role

We are looking for a Home Delivery Driver to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps for Sainsbury’s online shop. You will operate a 3.5‑tonne van in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service.

• Drive a 3.5‑tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, on‑time and in a great condition.
• Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before leaving the store.
• Serve customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays.
• Build great knowledge of our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations.
• Assist across the store as needed when not out making deliveries.

• Must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
• Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
• Will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview and, if successful, a driving assessment when you join us.

• Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing the best doorstep experience.
• Proficient at driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy residential streets to narrow country lanes, and delivering to a variety of residential properties.
• Happy working in a fast‑paced, physical and high‑energy environment, using initiative to solve problems – often on your own but also thriving as part of a team.
• Always ready to work flexibly and productively across the store when needed – fully trained in a variety of skills, with opportunities to learn, develop and try new things.
• Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology to do your job brilliantly, and moving shopping containers up to 15 kg.
