We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Children's Social Worker to join the Case Progression team as a Case Progression Manager on a 12 month fixed term basis.

About the role
The Case Progression Manager is a critical role in overseeing the timely and effective movement of matters within the Public Law Outline (PLO) process. This role ensures that statutory responsibilities are met and that children’s welfare remains central to all decision-making. The postholder works closely with Social Workers, Team Managers, legal services, and multi-agency partners to monitor case trajectories, identify delays, and drive improvements in practice.
The Case Progression Manager acts as a bridge between operational teams and legal services, facilitating effective communication and ensuring that cases are legally sound and procedurally compliant. They track performance indicators such as timescales for assessments, pre-proceedings actions, and court submissions, identifying patterns of drift and escalating concerns where necessary. The role also involves coaching and mentoring staff, promoting reflective practice, and encouraging critical thinking in complex decision-making.
