Job Overview

Our client, a national property services contractor with over 75 years of experience, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Response Team in Guildford. The role focuses on reactive maintenance and housing response within the Waverley area, working with a social‑housing client on day‑to‑day repairs and void maintenance works.

• Price materials and labour for responsive repairs work streams using SORs.
• Manage the financial and technical aspects of the contract, including procurement, budget management, direct labour targeting, subcontractor management, invoicing, payments, cash flow and cost control.
• Produce monthly contract valuations (CVRs) comparing actual deliverables against projected budgets.
• Minimise costs while maximising value, profit and cash flow.
• Develop and maintain relationships with workforce, customers, subcontractors, suppliers and the client.

• Proven experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role.
• Experience managing Schedule of Rates contracts, preferably with social housing clients.
• Strong IT and Microsoft Excel skills; ability to handle high volumes of data analysis.
• Experience with direct labour and subcontract procurement.

• Annual salary: £66,538 (base £59,838 + car allowance £6,700).
