Contract: Full Time/ Permanent
Reporting to: Manufacturing Improvement Manager
What Will You Be Doing as a Manufacturing Design Engineer- Using Solid Works to design and deliver in‑house improvements to existing equipment and processes.
- Developing and delivering design improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
- Ensure all improvements meet Howdens and UK engineering / safety standards.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to understand design requirements.
- Contribute / lead root cause analysis of production issues.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and cross‑functional teams to verify the effectiveness of installed improvements.
- Proficiency in Solid Works (or similar CAD software) for equipment design and modifications – minimum 4 years Solid Works experience required.
- Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of UK and EN safety standards for equipment modification and installation.
- Proven experience in manufacturing improvement or process engineering within a high‑volume production environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to engage cross‑functional teams.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with a strong focus on results and delivering measurable improvements.
