About

The Role

We are recruiting Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join our expanding team at the Howden site. The role involves a combination of mornings and afternoons on a rotating shift pattern.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Fault finding, PLC troubleshooting, and maintenance of conveyor systems, equipment, and plant to minimize lost production time
  • Follow up any faults picked up on PPMs
  • Take ownership of the working area; monitor key maintenance KPIs such as breakdowns and maintain a strong service‑department mindset towards operations
  • Keep and maintain all company‑issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
  • Proactively work towards the continued success and support of the business with a can‑do attitude
Additional Duties

As designated, you must ensure you have read, understood, and adhere to policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety and your responsibilities located in the Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibilities document.

Desired Skills and Knowledge
  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 18th Edition with valid IEE regulations (desirable)
  • Welding/Fabricating experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of PLC systems (desirable)
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge
  • Problem‑solving and team‑working skills
  • Ability to think on your own initiative
