Electrical Engineer – INEOS

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Team Leader, the post holder will provide Electrical Engineering support to the Dalmeny and Hound Point (DHP) assets. Activities include maintaining asset integrity, acting as the engineering focal point for day‑to‑day operations, breakdowns, TAR (turnaround) and outage events, delivering electrical engineering expertise and ensuring all designs, maintenance, modifications and upgrades comply with Ineos FPS and international industry standards.
Responsibilities- Responsible for maintaining the asset and protective systems integrity.
- Electrical Engineering focal point for the DHP site, day‑to‑day operations, breakdowns, TAR and site outage events.
- Provide electrical engineering expertise to ensure TAR/outage scope is delivered safely, on‑time and within budget.
- Identify, define and develop work packages relevant to the electrical engineering discipline, serving as single point of accountability for identified scopes.
- Deliver improvements in plant reliability and defect elimination.
- Serve as job responsible engineer for Management of Change (MOC) documentation associated to electrical scopes.
- Provide electrical engineering support to multi‑discipline scopes and support the preparation and implementation of these scopes.
- Participate in TAR scope definition and challenge process, providing technical input to the evaluation process identifying risks and opportunities of proposed scopes.
- Define and source materials and equipment for electrical work packages and raise appropriate purchase requisitions.
- Support the maintenance team leader with the implementation of planned maintenance routines.
- Provide technical electrical expertise to DHP Maintenance Supervisor and electrical technicians.
- Input to planning, logic and resource requirements for electrical engineering elements of the integrated plan.
- Manage works performed on site by designated electrical contractors.
- Perform on‑site commissioning activity associated with the electrical discipline in support of restoring the asset to operation post‑TAR/outage events.
- Ensure all designs, maintenance, modifications and upgrades delivered comply with Ineos FPS and international industry standards.
- Provide technical support and input to the GoC (Guidance on Certification) principles.
- Lead and contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments, RCFA sessions and investigations as the electrical engineering focal point for all activity relating to DHP.
- As required support in asset engineering activity at times of critical need.
- Self‑verification review of isolations, switching programs, maintenance procedures to identify areas for improvement.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
- At least 5 years of technical experience in a technical role (discipline engineering, maintenance management) in oil and gas upstream, midstream or downstream environments.
- Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR.
- Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical power systems.
- Knowledge and experience in the operation and commissioning of UPS systems (AC and DC).
- Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK regulatory and industry standards.
- Experience of using power system modelling and design software (ETAP / Trimble, etc).
- BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified.
- Full UK driving licence.
