We are currently looking for a VDC Technology Specialist
to join our Construction Technology team located at our office in Granite City, IL,
Charlotte, NC, and Nashville, TN . Our ideal candidate for a VDC Technology Specialist is someone w ho is dependable, willing to learn, and enjoys solving technical problems. The VDC Technology Specialist supports iENG's Building Information Modeling (BIM) design team by managing Revit content and developing constructible Revit families for fabrication. This role blends software support, content creation, and cross-team coordination to keep VDC teams equipped with reliable tools, templates, and Revit families across projects.
responsibilities for iENG’s VDC Technology Specialist include:
- Support Autodesk software solutions and installations on team computers
- Develop and/or modify deliverables based on BxPs, Excel drawing lists, and detailed verbal instructions
- Develop deliverables with necessary views, sections, and details using company and/or client standards
- Troubleshoot frequently used software such as Revit, BIM 360, ACC, and AutoCAD to resolve discrepancies
- Work with Revit content creation and management, including dynamic and parametric families
- Make and manage dynamic Revit families for job-specific requirements
Continuously evaluate and improve current methods used to accomplish assigned activities - Ensure all deliverables comply with company/client standards, sketches, and written or verbal instructions
- Coordinate with VDC, project managers, and engineering on project-specific technology needs
- Learn and apply project and company standards and procedures
- Stay current on new programs, processes, and technology relevant to assigned work
- Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and provide solutions
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support project and department needs
- Proficiency with Revit content creation and management, including dynamic/parametric families
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
- Ability to troubleshoot common software issues in Revit, BIM 360, ACC, and AutoCAD
- Understanding of BxPs, drawing lists, and project-specific documentation requirements
- Familiarity with a design-build workflow and its impact on content development
- Ability to develop views, sections, and details to company/client standards
- Dependable and willing to learn new tools and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective team player who collaborates well across disciplines
