Senior Electrical Estimator

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team and grow with the business. MES Contractors has been operating for over 45 years. This role is a key position aimed at progression into senior management within the company. The role is office-based in Gravesend, five days a week, with a dog-friendly office environment. Remote work is not available.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and other documentation using our estimating software.
• Collaborate with suppliers, sub-contractors and the Purchasing Manager to gather information for estimates.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations for cost control measures.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
• Build relationships with clients and follow up on tenders, leveraging long-term client relationships.

• Must be a qualified Gold Card electrician (minimum).
• 7+ years of experience in estimating.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts is preferable.
• Experience with Cypher estimating system is a must; training available.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to engage with clients and pursue tenders.
• Organised with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
