Mechanical Shift Engineer – Gravesend, Kent
Salary: £53,000 per annum

Shifts:

12-hour Days/Nights (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)
Rota: 4-week rolling pattern – 3 on 3 off, 2 on 2 off, 3 on 4 off, 3 on 2 off, 3 on 4 off

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at a busy site in Gravesend. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working autonomously, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.

You will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs across a range of industrial plant and equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

* Mechanical maintenance on machinery, plant, and associated equipment

* Timely response to breakdowns and unplanned maintenance

* Mechanical fault-finding and root-cause analysis

* Completing PPMs and maintaining detailed maintenance records

* Supporting site operations and ensuring equipment reliability

* Working safely and adhering to all company procedures

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

* Background in manufacturing, industrial, or FM environments (desirable)

* Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* Ability to work independently on shift

* Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / equivalent)
