Mechanical Shift Engineer - Gravesend, Kent

Salary: £53,000 per annum.

Shifts:

12‑hour Days/Nights (7am‑7pm / 7pm‑7am). Rota: 4‑week rolling pattern – 3 on 3 off, 2 on 2 off, 3 on 4 off, 3 on 2 off, 3 on 4 off.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at a busy site in Gravesend. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working autonomously, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety and reliability. You will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, fault‑finding, and repairs across a range of industrial plant and equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

• Mechanical maintenance on machinery, plant, and associated equipment
• Timely response to breakdowns and unplanned maintenance
• Mechanical fault‑finding and root‑cause analysis
• Completing PPMs and maintaining detailed maintenance records
• Supporting site operations and ensuring equipment reliability
• Working safely and adhering to all company procedures

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer
• Background in manufacturing, industrial, or FM environments (desirable)
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently on shift
• Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds / equivalent)
