The MSK Physiotherapy service provides outpatient MSK services across Kent. We operate within four teams covering North Kent, Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet, South Kent Coast and West Kent.
We provide musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy to the local population working in community hospital physiotherapy departments and outreach clinics. We run a hybrid model of face‑to‑face and virtual consultations.
You will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment and treatment of outpatients.
A Band 5 Health Care Professional (HCP) will be responsible for the management of their own caseload of patients under the supervision of a senior physiotherapist.
We are currently recruiting for 2 posts to be based in:
- West Kent team working between Churchill Centre (Aylesford), Sevenoaks Hospital and Tonbridge Cottage Hospital
- North Kent team working between Gravesham Community Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital
The base location will be agreed at interview and the post holder will be expected to work across sites in their respective teams and sometimes travel throughout Kent for training and to help meet service demands.
Main duties of the jobYour main responsibilities will include managing a clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner both virtually and face‑to‑face. Developing and maintaining a high level of skill and knowledge in all areas of clinical practice supported by your clinical supervisor and a structured capability framework. You will be able to consolidate and build on your skills with regular in‑service training, clinical supervision and allocated personal Continued Professional Development (CPD) time; there are also Trust‑wide Clinical Special Interest Groups available. We have an established appraisal system to actively support your CPD. You will likely be required to travel across trust sites in a timely manner. Some travel is to be expected for training and to help meet service demands.
You will need to be flexible, embrace change and innovation, work well under pressure and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Full‑time hours are preferred. Part‑time hours may be considered for the right candidate at a minimum of 30 hours over 4 days. This role is open to both current registered physiotherapists and students.
