About the role
Nurse Team Lead Prison Health Care at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. A dynamic individual is required to lead and develop a primary care team within Prison Health Care at HMP Greenock, sharing overall management for service delivery within HMP Greenock and reporting directly to the Service Manager for Prison Health Care.
We operate across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which employs around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million.
Essential Criteria- 1st Level Registered Nurse with evidence of skills in one or more of the following areas:
Custodial settings, A minor injuries unit, Accident & Emergency, Drug and Alcohol Services, Treatment Room. - Ability to manage a caseload in one of the above areas.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team.
- Significant post‑registration experience using specialist assessment skills and techniques to determine health and care needs, especially when working with clients/patients who may have mental health issues, learning disabilities, language barriers, be under the influence of illicit substances, or have chaotic lifestyles.
- Capacity to work within a team environment and autonomously using initiative.
- Effective communication with other professionals and disciplines.
- Ability to react clinically and professionally in a changing and challenging environment.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Registered as a V300 practitioner or currently working towards V300 certification.
- Full driving licence.
