Location:
Thamesmead (hybrid working available) Are you an experienced Business Development Manager who can identify opportunities, win new work and shape sustainable growth within a mixed public-sector and commercial environment? About the Role This is a key role supporting business growth across two closely linked organisations, operating within different but complementary frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Business Development, the Business Development Manager will lead on identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing effective business development approaches, and supporting the delivery of corporate and marketing plans.
The role will involve leading tendering and bidding activity, building strategic partnerships and working closely with senior colleagues to ensure opportunities are deliverable, compliant and aligned with organisational priorities. The postholder will need to balance a strong understanding of governance and regulatory requirements with a proactive and commercially aware approach to growth, using insight, analysis and relationship management to strengthen the organisations market position.
About Us Greenwich Services Plus (GSP) Ltd and Greenwich Service Solutions (GSS) Ltd are wholly owned companies of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. GSP operates within a regulated, compliant framework and delivers a significant proportion of services to the Council, with a strong emphasis on social value. About You Experience in identifying and securing commercial opportunities. Experience in tendering, contract management, and partnership work. Ability to create business and marketing plans using research and analysis.
Strong communication and negotiation skills. Strategic thinker who can work independently and with teams. Relevant professional qualifications (like CIM, CIPS, PRINCE2) and experience in public or regulated sectors. . Why Join Us?
