Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of Glencar for a Senior Engineer to join their project team in Grimsby. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected main contractor delivering major industrial and commercial projects across the UK. The position offers a salary of £60,000–£65,000 per annum plus a full package.

As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of engineering delivery on site, ensuring all works are completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Technical Duties

Lead engineering activities on site, including setting out and technical oversight.
Manage and check design information, drawings, and specifications.
Oversee temporary works, permits, ITPs, and QA compliance.
Produce accurate records, as-builts, check sheets and technical reports.

Quality Assurance

Implement and manage ITPs and quality processes.
Ensure all works are delivered to Glencar standards and client expectations.

Coordination & Communication

Work closely with project managers, site managers, subcontractors, and design teams.
Assist junior engineers and support their development.
Liaise with consultants, clients, and external stakeholders.

Setting Out

Complete and manage setting out for groundworks, civils, drainage, steelwork, concrete, and externals.
Check levels, alignments, and tolerances to ensure accuracy.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure engineering activities comply with all health & safety requirements.
Promote a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

Experience as a Senior Engineer or strong Engineer ready to step up.
Background in industrial, commercial, logistics or large-scale construction.
Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, steel frames, concrete, and external works.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Valid CSCS card.
