Job Summary
Diagnostic Healthcare Limited is one of the leading imaging companies in the UK. The company provides a variety of diagnostic services including Ultrasound, Bone Density scans, MRI, OPG and Dental CT. Candidates must be flexible and willing to travel as and when required. The position requires a good level of computer skills and candidates must be able to work alone in a well organised manner.
The role is varied depending on the site and the needs of the patients. Main duties include supporting sonographers in the clinical environment and managing equipment transport.
Responsibilities- Drive and transport ultrasound equipment safely to all required sites as directed by the Operations team and in accordance with the weekly rota schedule.
- Work cohesively with the designated sonographer to support clinical sessions ensuring all patient needs are met in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure ultrasound consumable stock levels are maintained at all times and report stock shortages to the Operations Team via Origami.
- Manage the smooth running of the patient database and session list, recording patient episodes accurately and uploading images to PACS at the end of each clinic.
- Assist patients in a safe and appropriate manner, using recognised manual handling techniques for patient transfer and support.
- Communicate with the patient services team to inform them of urgent or RAD patients immediately following a scan.
- Complete the end‑of‑day report on Origami before the close of the clinical session.
- Teach students present for the clinical session how to process patients and upload images to Compucare.
- Support the sonographer and patient when adverse clinical findings lead to unexpected distress for the patient or those accompanying the patient.
- Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times, supporting the sonographer with all scans, often of an intimate nature.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for safe transportation of equipment.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
