• You will become — within an ICT club of 300 professionals — our database guru
• You ensure optimally performing databases with high availability
• You work with the latest technology on the pension platform of tomorrow
• You are at home in the world of database management. Oracle, Postgres
  
  SQL – you have worked with them. Now you are ready for a new step: the one to the cloud. With your experience with databases, you will ensure a successful migration to AWS. Important, because it concerns the data of approximately 4 million people. Are you ready for the step to the cloud? And do you know how to keep our data safe and available during and after the migration?

The arrival of the new pension system brings major changes. Certainly for our ICT platform. As a platform engineer DBM, you will set up and manage our databases. With your specialization, you ensure that our applications can rely on optimal performance and high availability. To do this, you combine our 'old' on-premises infrastructure with the new, cloud-based world. That means a lot of pioneering.

And a lot of collaboration with colleagues who build and manage other parts of the infrastructure.

• Set up, maintain and optimize an Amazon RDS within our AWS environment
• Set up monitoring and reporting using Splunk
• Manage and migrate our existing on-premises database to AWS
• Perform and optimize data refreshes and migrations

You are an expert in your field. You already know a lot, but are always looking for more. With your curiosity you dive into the depths, searching for details. You believe that the devil is in the detail, because a small mistake can have major consequences. With your carefulness and structured way of thinking you are alert to this. The fact that you like to figure things out independently does not mean that you are a lone wolf.

On the contrary: you like to share your knowledge with others. And with your open personality you approach people to bring or get something.

• At least HBO level through a relevant IT education or experience
• 5-7 years of work experience with Oracle and/or Postgres
  
  SQL databases, for example as a DBA or Dev Ops engineer
• Knowledge of AWS and concepts such as Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with automating work and scripting configurations with Terraform and Puppet
• Knowledge of the security and compliance aspects of platform engineering and IT service management
