About

Mojo Food Group

Mojo Food Group is building a diversified, tech‑enabled food platform that spans fast‑growing brands and formats. Work across:

  • Crafty Ramen, one of Canada’s fastest‑growing restaurant brands, and help scale our frozen ramen product globally.
  • One of Canada’s most iconic burger brands, where we combine heritage and operational excellence.
  • Independent restaurants — including Guelph’s best dining destination.
  • A balanced mix of franchise and independent restaurants, food manufacturing operations, and fast‑moving CPG growth.

This role gives you exposure across restaurant operations, manufacturing, and CPG, a great place to build depth and scale your career.

Mission / Role summary

Own accurate day‑to‑day bookkeeping across multiple legal entities, deliver timely reconciliations and HST filings, and support month‑end close. You’ll standardize processes, implement automation, and partner with leadership to make finance predictable and scalable as Mojo expands.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain full‑cycle bookkeeping across sister companies: bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Record daily transactions and maintain clean supporting schedules and trial balances.
  • Manage AP/AR workflows — vendor invoices, approvals, and bill payments via Plooto (or equivalent).
  • Prepare and file GST/HST returns accurately and on time.
  • Support month‑end close activities and year‑end prep for external reporting and audit.
  • Publish receipts/invoices from Dext (or equivalent) into Xero / Quick Books Online and keep automation pipelines healthy.
  • Build and maintain reconciliation templates and automation (Google Sheets / Excel macros / light scripting where appropriate).
  • Create and document SOPs, control checklists, and improvement plans to reduce errors and close time.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, manufacturing, and CPG teams to reconcile payment platforms (Square, Stripe, Shopify), payroll systems, and inventory‑related accounts.
Must‑have
  • 5+ years of full‑cycle bookkeeping with exposure to multi‑entity accounting (hospitality/retail is an asset).
  • Practical, hands‑on experience with Xero and/or Quick Books Online.
  • Solid knowledge of reconciliations, AP/AR, intercompany bookkeeping, and GST/HST rules.
  • Experience using Dext (or similar invoice/receipt capture) and Plooto (or similar payment rails).
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets capability (pivot tables, lookups, data‑cleaning).
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage competing priorities across entities.
Nice‑to‑have
  • Experience with food manufacturing, accounting or CPG reporting.
  • Familiarity with Square / Stripe / Shopify / payment‑platform reconciliations.
  • Exposure to payroll platforms (Wagepoint, ADP) and preparing payroll‑related accruals.
  • Practical experience with AI‑assisted workflows or automation tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot) to speed reconciliation and reporting.
  • Prior work supporting franchise accounting or multi‑location reporting.
What we offer
  • Salary: $55,000-$65,000
  • 3‑weeks holiday
  • Extended health benefits package (medical, dental, vision, details provided at offer).
  • Parking is included for on‑site positions.
  • Free meals while working + 20% off for you and up to 3 guests at our restaurant locations when not on shift.
  • A modern, tech‑enabled finance stack and a team that prioritizes process improvement and automation.
