Position OverviewResearch Financial Services provides assistance and guidance to meet the financial administrative requirements of sponsored research awards. This position is responsible for managing accounting and compliance for research grants and supporting the University community.

- Band 03 - Salary Band: Target hiring salary is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade.
- Professional/Managerial Salary Bands: Tentative evaluation; subject to committee review.
- Provide analysis and ad hoc reporting to Accountants, Research Financial Support, relating to departmental expenses, purchase orders and p-card transactions.
- Review, analyze and process purchase orders, p-card transactions, expense claims, payroll approvals, payment of invoices, and other expense management tasks.
- Accurately maintain tracking of research grants and process journal entries to ensure grant funds are spent as per budget.
- Maintain effective communication with department faculties and provide enhanced services.
- Work effectively in an evolving, innovative environment while balancing competing deadlines, priorities, and tasks.
- Collaborate within a team and work independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
- Graduation from a four-year university program in accounting, with a professional accounting designation (CPA) or on track to certify within 12–18 months, plus related experience.
- Experience in an accounting role of 12–18 months in an organization using fund accounting practices (preferred).
- Demonstrated commitment to cultivating a positive workplace culture.
- Superior attention to detail and professional competency in accounting practices to manage discrete accounts.
- Familiarity with an academic environment and culture is an asset.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
The incumbent will also bring a positive attitude and high energy level to their role, ensuring effective management of reporting and compliance for all research funding.
