CIMA+ sustainable development team in our Building sector continues to grow! We are looking for an engineer with experience in sustainable design, building efficiency and energy simulation. As part of a dynamic team of experts, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our design teams to develop innovative solutions for energy optimization and carbon reduction in a variety of projects.

Responsibilities- Perform energy modelling and analyze carbon emissions to evaluate building performance and optimize design choices.
- Develop energy models that comply with current codes and environmental certification requirements.
- Recommend energy consumption optimization strategies and decarbonization solutions tailored to projects.
- Propose integrated strategies to improve energy efficiency, air quality and thermal comfort in buildings.
- Write technical reports, including recommendations, based on energy modelling results.
- Effectively communicate results and recommendations to clients, project teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare regulatory and compliance documentation, including for CNEB and environmental certifications.
- Provide technical support for environmental certifications such as LEED, Zero Carbon Building and BOMA BEST.
- Carry out life‑cycle cost analyses to assess the cost effectiveness of energy‑saving measures.
- Carry out energy and water audits to identify ways to reduce resource consumption in existing buildings.
- University degree in building engineering, building science, mechanical engineering or related field
- Valid Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) designation
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in energy modelling and building performance analysis
- Solid knowledge of sustainable development, energy system design, energy simulation and management, as well as grant and incentive programs
- Proficiency in energy simulation software such as IES-VE, eQUEST, Energy Plus and RETScreen Expert
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Bilingualism in French and English, an asset, to participate in projects across Canada.
