Senior Field Technician – Source Emissions

Key Responsibilities- Lead and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC).
- Plan and manage field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and safety procedures.
- Analyze collected data and ensure QA/QC protocols are strictly followed throughout testing and reporting processes.
- Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior field technicians and new team members.
- Troubleshoot and maintain analytical and sampling equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership.
- Keep current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices, proactively adapting procedures and technologies.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and field observations.
- Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field is an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the Air Quality Testing field.
- Practical expertise in OSTC and EPA Source testing methodologies.
- Strong computer and analytical technical “hands-on” skills.
- An aptitude for practical problem-solving.
- Field/site experience is a definite asset.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination, and consultation skills.
- Willingness to travel, and work outdoors including working long hours, evenings, and weekends.
- Collect samples at locations that may require working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 depending on experience.
