SUPPORT SERVICES ATTENDANT
(REGULAR PART TIME)
Two () Regular Part Time Support Services Attendant positions are available within our Support Services Department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
Responsible for providing a clean and safe environment, performing room set ups, and moving furniture; prepare, assemble, deliver, serve, and store food within the patient care and cafeteria settings; porting patients within the facility and managing supply of transfer equipment; and receiving and the flow of supplies through the facility. Adhering to guidelines and standards set by Ministry of Environment, PIDAC, (Provincial Infections Diseases Advisory Committee), Government of Canada’s Food and Drug Act, and Public Health Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Secondary School DiplomaExperience in healthcare Environmental Cleaning or Food Services DepartmentCertificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferredSafe Food Handling Certificate or in-process of obtainingFood Service Worker Program Certificate preferredMSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training, maintained annuallyCPR certification preferredExcellent record of dependabilityAbility to work well independently, as well as contribute to a team environmentExcellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skillsStrong computer proficiencyAbility to carry out the physical aspects inherent in this position (see working conditions below)WHMIS TrainingAbility to operate hydraulic lift/scissor dock and all other equipment preferredSatisfactory performance and attendance requiredSatisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start dateMust provide a Police Vulnerable Sector CheckMust complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hiredWORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, periodic climbing which include ladders, operation of floor machines and other equipment
SUMMARY OF
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform Housekeeping work pertaining to cleaning and disinfection, collection and disposal of waste, collection and distribution of linens, and receive, prepare, store and deliver food productsPatient Transfers within facilityReceives Hospital deliveries, validates and delivers items to departments, and enters items into electronic supply chain databaseArranges hospital shipmentsMaintain Broader Public Sector (BPS) supply chain regulations and segregation of dutiesMaintains supply levels, reviews shortages, rotates stock, and updates changes as requiredOther duties as assignedHOURS OF WORK:
According to department schedule including weekends on a rotating basis
