Location:
Unassigned;
Guelph, Fergus and Erin.
FTE and
Hours:
1.0 FTE; 40 hours per week.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.05 per hour (probationary); $26.65 per hour (permanent); effective September 1, 2025.
Note:
Additional shift premium of $0.73 per hour applies to afternoon shift.
Shift: Primary afternoon shift, with requirement to work day shift as needed.
Start Date:
As soon as possible.
Reporting to:
Custodial Manager. Board: 12‑month position; permanent; full‑time; CUPE union.
Vacancy Status:
Existing vacancy.
- Opening and closing of sites
- Snow removal – salting and sanding
- Water flushing
- Cleaning of classrooms, offices, cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium, washrooms, and related areas as directed by the Head Caretaker, Shift Supervisor or designate
- Daily check logs
- Operating the Clorox 360 Machine if required
- Head Caretaker duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Fit tested and fit maintained for an N95 respirator
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and WHMIS program
- Independent, self‑motivated, detail oriented
- Knowledge of computer applications as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude an asset
- Basic understanding of heating and ventilation equipment an asset
