Reports to:
Manager, Mental Health and Community Programs
Guelph Family Health Team is currently seeking qualified Psychiatrist(s) for full-time or part-time opportunities within a collaborative, team-based primary care model.
Serving 130,000 patients across Guelph and surrounding communities, Guelph FHT is one of the largest Family Health Teams in Ontario. Our interdisciplinary teams deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care by connecting physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health counsellors, chronic disease nurses, dietitians, and other allied health professionals, ensuring patients receive the right care, at the right time.
Position Summary andKey Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment, including psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy
- Support the ongoing development of mental health and addictions services in the community
- Participate in quality review and continuous improvement initiatives
- Practice in accordance with provincial and national standards of psychiatric care
- Collaborate closely with primary care and allied health colleagues
- Experience or subspecialty training in geriatrics, addictions, forensic psychiatry, or consultation-liaison psychiatry is considered an asset but is not required.
Compensation is aligned with Ontario Health Specialists reimbursement for Family Health Teams, combining a stipend model with OHIP-billable services.
Qualifications- Hold a Certificate of Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Hold Royal College certification in Psychiatry
- Have an OHIP billing number
- Hold a specialist designation in the Ministry’s Corporate Provider Database (CPDB)
- Maintain current CMPA coverage
