Job Summary
Full‑time opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person with a desire to develop their clinical skills to join our proactive team of 46 at The Royal Surrey Hospital. Working alongside very experienced and specialist dietitians will make this an ideal post to start or broaden your dietetic career.
The post‑holder will work within our established medical dietetic teams, providing support to both inpatients and outpatients. You will have a very varied caseload and will work within several MDTs and support initiatives promoting MUST screening. We are looking for someone who is proactive and has the initiative to develop and / or improve the efficiency of services.
The Dietetic Department at The Royal Surrey Hospital has an active audit and research culture, promoting clinical effectiveness in patient care. You will join a forward‑thinking and innovative dietetic team, which undertakes the training of dietetic students from both the University of Surrey and the University of Winchester, and is also involved in teaching and supporting students with dissertation projects. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide clinical dietetic support to inpatients and outpatients, including direct access GP referrals to dietitian‑led clinics.

The post holder will play an active role in teaching other professionals, including students and patients, both as individuals and in groups. There will be liaison with MDTs and the development of appropriate education programmes to facilitate efficient use of healthcare personnel. The job will include speciality sessions to develop experience in a range of specialties (e.g. oncology, specialist surgery, paediatrics and gastro).
This aspect of the post will depend on caseload and time pressures of the post holder and specialty colleagues.
