We are working with a leading organisation in the SaaS space who are looking for a Business Development representatiove to join the team at an exciting time of growth.
Job OverviewThe Business Development Representative (BDR) will work closely with both the Sales and Marketing teams to qualify, nurture, and progress marketing-generated leads into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs). This role is critical in ensuring a strong pipeline of well-qualified opportunities and a seamless handover to the sales team. The successful candidate will be commercially driven, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, and experienced in solution-led sales environments, ideally within retail software, ERP or Microsoft ecosystems.
LeadQualification & Nurturing
- Engage with inbound & outbound marketing leads via phone, email, social, and digital channels
- Qualify prospects based on defined criteria (industry fit, needs, budget, timeline, decision-makers)
- Nurture early-stage opportunities to progress them to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Hubspot CRM
- Work closely with Marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance and lead quality
- Collaborate with Sales Executives to ensure smooth handover of qualified opportunities
- Support outbound initiatives, targeted campaigns, and account-based marketing activities
- Assist in building and refining lead qualification processes and messaging
- Support trade shows, exhibitions, partner events, and conferences
- Engage with attendees, qualify leads on-site, and ensure effective post-event follow-up
- Represent the company professionally as an ambassador for our brand and solutions
- Report on pipeline activity, lead conversion rates, and qualification outcomes
- Provide regular updates to the Sales & Marketing Director
- Share market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback
- 5yrs+ experience as a Business Development Representative, SDR, or Inside Sales role
- Experience working in B2B software, ERP, SaaS, or Microsoft partner environments
- Strong understanding of lead qualification and sales pipelines
- Confident communicator with experience speaking to senior decision-makers
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working collaboratively across sales and marketing teams
- Commercially minded with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
- Resilient and comfortable working toward targets and KPIs
- Strong relationship builder with excellent listening skills with desire to understand customer challenges and solutions
