Support Worker – Salvation Army Homes

Mulberry House, Guilford.
About the Role
- Exciting opportunity for a Support Worker based in Mulberry House, our supported housing service in Guilford.
- Work with people who are or have recently experienced homelessness and who are in need of support and accommodation.
- Get to know and build the trust of our clients.
- Unlock clients’ potential to live independently.
- Enhance their social integration by encouraging participation in social and leisure programmes.
- Help residents with their support needs and practicalities of everyday living.
- Provide a 24/7 service with shift patterns: 8:00am‑4:00pm, 3:00pm‑11:00pm, and sleep‑in shifts until 8:00am.
About the Candidate
- Confident and capable communicator.
- Skilled at building trusting, professional relationships.
- Experienced in helping people develop skills, strengths and talents.
- Knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and / or supporting vulnerable people or groups.
- Good idea of the wider community resources and organisations available to support residents and comfortable dealing with complex situations.
- Energy, passion, positive can‑do attitude aligned with our values and behaviours.
