Transport Planner / Assistant Transport Planner – Guildford Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner or Assistant Transport Planner to join our Transport & Mobility Planning team in Guildford. As a Transport Planner at WSP you will work across modes to develop transport strategies, policies and business cases, and support the development of transport programmes and projects from inception through to completion.

• Contributing to a variety of projects and proposals (both technical and commercial inputs) and delivering high quality outputs in line with client requirements.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; collaborating with other WSP service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
• Playing a supporting role in securing and delivering work for our diverse local client portfolio.
• Contributing to the financial performance of your projects and to the commercial performance of our team.
• Making an active contribution to WSP's four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise).

• Prior experience in transport and mobility planning and design, and transport data analysis.
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Experience of working with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients.
• Experience of software packages such as TRICS, Junction 10 and LinSIG.
• Understanding of project management skills developed across a range of transport and multi-disciplinary projects.
• Creative, innovative mindset, lateral thinker.
