About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Bakery Sous Chef with a strong foundation in bread making, artisan cookies, and contemporary, innovative desserts. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating modern, trend-driven bakery products suited for a fast-paced QSR-style café chain.

You will assist in leading bakery production, ensuring top quality and consistency, mentoring junior team members, and contributing creatively to new product development.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily bakery operations, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and presentation.
- Develop and innovate new products — from breads and cookies to contemporary plated and café-style desserts — aligned with current trends and brand identity.
- Manage production planning to meet high-volume demands while maintaining product integrity.
- Train, guide, and motivate junior bakers and commis to enhance skills and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to recipes, techniques, and SOPs for consistency.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and management on new menu launches and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in compliance with food safety standards.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and implement effective solutions under tight timelines.
- Be flexible with shifts as per operational needs.

Candidate Profile

- 4–5 years of proven experience as CDP or Jr. Sous Chef in a professional bakery or café kitchen.
- Strong technical base in breads, cookies, viennoiserie, and modern desserts.
- Passion for innovation, flavor pairing, and dessert aesthetics.
- Awareness of emerging bakery and dessert trends.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-load, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on trainer capable of mentoring and upskilling team members.
- Positive, solution-oriented, and adaptable mindset.
